About A Cure for Everett
Everett is a brave little boy living in Austin, Texas, with an ultra-rare neurodevelopmental mitochondrial genetic condition caused by a harmful change in his HK1 gene that occurred spontaneously. Fewer than 50 cases are known worldwide, there is no cure (yet!), and the condition carries a frighteningly high mortality rate. He has the most severe known variant, which disrupts vital systems, especially his neurological and respiratory function.
A Cure for Everett was created to raise the $3 million needed to fund the scientists and doctors working urgently to understand this condition, develop a treatment and cure.
With your help, we can turn hope into action. Donate to Team Everett and change the trajectory of his life.
100% of the funds will be used for A Cure for Everett’s initiative and the research and development of a cure for Everett’s HK1 genetic condition. A Cure for Everett is currently operating under fiscal sponsorship of Rare Village Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law.
